Vikas Purohit Exits Tata Cliq

Vikas Purohit has resigned from Tata Cliq as chief executive officer (CEO). Purohit is likely to join a leading MNC in a non-competing sector to head its India business. Purohit joined Tata Cliq in November 2016 and came with a huge experience in the e-commerce and fashion retail market.

As part of the group strategy, Tata Cliq is being integrated with Tata Neu ‘super app,’ which has been made a subsidiary of Tata Digital. This is part of the group’s plan to consolidate its major e-commerce ventures under Tata Digital.

An alumnus of the IIM Bengaluru, Purohit has been associated with companies like Paytm, Amazon India, Tommy Hilfiger, Reliance Brands, and Madura Garments.

Tata Cliq exited the electronics category this year and sold the inventory to a group company, Infiniti Retail, which owns electronics retailer Croma.
